ISKCON India Advances 60-50 Vision Through Coordinated National Efforts
ISKCON India is steadily progressing in its efforts to support and implement the global 60-50 vision under the guidance of the ICC 60-50 Committee. With a structured and collaborative approach, several key initiatives have been launched to strengthen outreach, education, and devotee engagement across the country.
A significant development has been the appointment of dedicated regional and national coordinators who are actively facilitating communication, implementation, and monitoring of 60-50 initiatives. These coordinators are working closely with temple leadership to ensure alignment with the broader objective of expanding Krishna consciousness through systematic education and outreach. As part of this effort, each coordinator is also developing a unique 60-50 plan for their respective yatra, conceived as a thoughtful offering to Srila Prabhupada.
The official website has been launched and is now fully active, serving as a centralized platform for resources, updates, reporting mechanisms, and participation opportunities. It helps streamline coordination among temples, educators, and volunteers across the country.
The rollout of the Srila Prabhupada Introductory Course (SPIC) is underway as a foundational educational initiative, with focused efforts on onboarding teachers and initiating structured course delivery. In addition, several large-scale outreach initiatives are being developed. Efforts are underway to collaborate with leading musical artists to produce a Hare Krishna album aimed at reaching broader audiences through devotional music. A major Bhagavad-gita distribution program is also being planned and executed across various regions, with temples mobilizing devotees to facilitate systematic and increased book distribution.
Further initiatives include establishing education departments within temples, implementing systematic teacher training, developing standardized curricula, and enhancing collaboration between yatras. Efforts are also being made to encourage wider devotee participation through volunteering, outreach programs, and structured engagement opportunities.
At the individual center level, temples across India are actively organizing classes, outreach programs, and community engagement efforts aligned with the 60-50 objectives. Many yatras are integrating educational offerings into their regular activities while exploring innovative approaches to expand preaching.
These collective efforts reflect a sincere and unified attempt to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s desire for systematic spiritual education and the expansion of Krishna consciousness.
